Export the file as a video and then open it in video editing software. That way you can speed up the play rate for the sections you want and condense the length of the video. Just requires another tool but easily doable.

I'm having trouble with the audio-video SYNCHRONIZATION. Can someone please help me with this? Also how can I make LONG recordings (1 to 2 hours) without having a HUGE file size? For example, I wanna let Camtasia start recording a video I'm streaming and I wanna leave my house and come back and press STOP. How can I do this w/o having a HUGEEEEE file size AND have audio-video SYNCHRONIZATION? I'm not gonna upload the videos anywhere so the quality doesn't need to be superb. Thanks.

I use Camtasia 6 and don't get any lag when recording, and I've recorded hundreds of Camtasia videos. Any lag is likely to be related to how much Ram you have on your computer or slow CPU

In Camtasia Studio, there is an option called 'Smart Focus', which will automatically zoom to your mouse location as you move your mouse. In the 'capture options', you can choose turn off the 'glowing capture rectangle'. I don't use Smart Focus, and have turned off the capture rectangle.

aaa okey! thanks.. but there is a function that camtasia makes it automatic??? because while I proved the recording, the picture its move by itself (as a frame of yellow color) and were applied a small zoom lens if I move the mouse, moved away I gave account when I saw the recording and I have seen and in other videos of tutorial... thanks again...

I have a problem with Camtasia all of a sudden. I recorded my computer screen for a game I was trying to beat and I did. I hit save and dragged it to the timeline. When I dragged it to the timeline, the preview box were you look at your video was pitch black and wouldnt play my movie. I had Fraps & then installed Camtasia Studio 6 & had a strange Problem My E & M keys would not work normaly :) It would only let me use if i Hit SHIFT & the The E or M key so uninstalled it :( or was it just a freak case ? Please Help

I use camtasia studio 6 and I upload the camrec project straight to youtube. for some reason, the video ends up in HD. I don´t know why, but every time I render it in camtasia, even with 100% quality, it doesn´t come out HD. sure, you can´t edit the recording file, but at least it´s in HD. So if you check out any video of mine in which I record my screen, know that it´s one continuous shot, no editing!! I´ll try this out and see if it works. thanks Jerry!!

I had that problem myself and only fixed it with a complete reinstall of Camtasia - I'm not sure what causes it or if that's the only way to fix it though. I hope this can help out with your troubles.

I record hours of video with Camtasia every week - on many different computers - and never see any lagging problems, even on slow laptops. You probably have something else going on on your computer slowing things down. Try doing a full virus scan first.

If you have adjusted the text size using windows video preferences, you can re-adjust those if you like. On my videos, I set the text size for windows to be large as these seem to give best results when recording computer screens.

When I add a video that already has sound in it (to edit) to the timeline only the video shows up. The audio timeline is empty If i screen record the video first (with audio on) then i can get the audio to go in timeline OR if I screen record the audio, produce it as mpeg4 then add it seperately I then can get the audio in timeline. But both ways seem unnecessary. HOW DO I GET AUDIO IN THE TIMELINE at the same time i put the video w/sound in the timeline? (no one can solve this i bet)

Nice job. Pretty nice summary video. I've seen Camtasia Studio for PC and wanted that for years, but didn't want to spend the $500 when it first came out. Camtasia's smart focus is a big advantage. But their site says it requires 4 gigs of free space. That's to much. Also I have read comments that the rending takes a long time compared to screen flow. I wish I had that Smart Focus Feature and Screen flows small footprint and speed of rendering. I'm a new screenflow purchaser.
